In Q1 2023, the top 5 film and television apps in Kenya experienced diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Showmax saw robust performance in weekly downloads, peaking at around 16.1K in mid-March. Weekly revenue remained relatively stable, averaging between $2.3K and $2.9K. Active users hovered around 155K to 169K, showing a slight dip towards the end of March.

Amazon Prime Video experienced steady weekly downloads, ranging from 2.9K to 3.8K throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at $1.8K at the end of February, while active users increased modestly from approximately 28.2K to 34.1K.

Netflix maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at over 105K at the end of December but gradually decreasing to about 44.4K by the end of March. Weekly revenue fluctuated around $1.1K to $1.6K. Active users saw slight variations, generally staying between 498K and 577K.
